Collection and dissemination of information on   Laws, Rules and Regulations relating to   electricity   through energywatch's web site
Publications and distribution such as 'How to   Guides'
Organization of awareness camps for consumers'   rights
 
 

Advocacy and Grievance Redressal:

Guiding and assisting the consumers in   seeking  redressal of the their grievances by   taking up cases with Regulators and utilities
Interacting with Regulators, Administrators   and Peoples' Representatives, and if need be
  seeking redressal through courts of law
Be a watchdog on Utilities* and Regulators:

Conducting Research and Studies to provide inputs
  to the Regulators for realizing the objective of reform   process.
National and international networking to bring   out the   best practices and sensitize the utilities and   regulators
Keep a vigil on the utilities and bringing out the   anomalies to the notice of regulators
Reviewing of Tariff orders with an objective to
  balance consumer interests and sustainability of
  energy sector
If need be seeking interventions of appropriate   Courts of Law

* Electricity Generation, Transmission and Distribution companies whether public or privately held


Promoter of energy efficiency :

Presenting the business case of Energy   Conservation and promoting renewable and   alternative sources of energy to consumers
Conducting Energy Audit both for voluntary
  and mandatory compliance.
Providing technical services to consumers   related to energy conservation.
Imparting training to consumers, partner   institutions and self-help groups.
